Holiday Time in New York City
A few weeks ago, I took a weekend trip to New York City. I wanted to capture the city at Christmas time. I feel like I did that. I started off the morning at the Bryant Park Christmas Market. I walked around and took some shots. I got some hot cocoa from Cocoa Cabin. It was the best hot cocoa I have ever had.
After I had my hot cocoa, I went to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree during the day. I made my way through the crowds to get photos of the tree and some of the surrounding area.
At this point, it was almost noon, so I decided to head over to Brooklyn for some pizza. I got off the subway and walked over to Julianas Pizza. Of course, it was busy, and there was a small line outside. I didn’t wait too long, and I was in with a seat at the bar area. I ordered a personal Margherita Pizza. It was so good. From the bar seat, I got to watch them make other pizzas, which was really cool.
After lunch, I walked over to Brooklyn Bridge Park to take photos of the bridge and Manhattan. I then headed over to the Brooklyn Bridge to walk it. It was a fun walk, and I got plenty of pictures.
I then started walking to SOHO, but it was getting close to dusk, and I wanted to go to the Hook and Ladder Company 8, AKA the Ghostbusters HQ. I made my way there, and it looked just like the movies, but a little Christmasy.
I got on the subway again and went back to Rockefeller Center, but it wasn’t dark just yet, so I walked over to Times Square and got something to eat at the McDonald's in Times Square to kill time.
By the time I was done eating, it was dark, and I headed back to get shots of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree at night. I also got a few other shots on my walk.
By this point in the day, I was out of energy and was ready for bed. I headed back to the hostel I was staying at in Jersey City, and got this nice shot of Manhattan at night with the Water’s Soul statue over on the right. It was a fun trip, and I would like to go back soon.
